This is 2007 information. Stay tuned for 2008 info in August 08

Dear Fellow Youth Worker,
Greetings. I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing you today to share with you the vision of ICYC 2007. My hope is to share with you the direction God has led us for this year’s convention, and to partner with you in making disciples for the Kingdom.
ICYC is a convention for high school students that has been taking place in Indiana for over 30 years. Each year, youth ministers from all over Indiana come together to create this exciting weekend of worship, powerful messages, and life-changing encounters with the Living God. As Youth ministers ourselves, we understand students, and have first-hand knowledge about the challenges they face. Our goal is to encourage, equip, and challenge our students to a deeper walk with Christ.
Our theme for this year is “myLife.” Our goal is to drive home that a relationship with Jesus is something that should encompass every aspect of our lives. We want students to recognize that living for Christ requires commitment and discipline, and that God desires our WHOLE heart. Indeed, we will be echoing the words of Christ from Luke 9:23-24 - “Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.
Our hope also is that the weekend of ICYC will encourage every student to a deeper walk with Christ. We recognize that students from all different places in their spiritual walk will be with us for the weekend. Some students are just beginning to know Jesus and the life that He offers. Others have walked with Him for a long time, and their relationship is thriving. Still others have been Christians, but are stagnant in their walk. Our subthemes, or themes for each main session, will be aimed at the different groups of students who attend.
Our goal is to CONNECT students to Christ, to equip them to GROW in their faith, to teach them to WORSHIP Him with their lives, and challenge them to SERVE others. Our hope is that every student from every walk of life will be encouraged to take the next step in their relationship with Christ.
Obviously, we will seek to accomplish these goals in a variety of ways. The weekend will be full of powerful main sessions, intimate worship, relevant Biblical teaching, practical workshops, and other meaningful outlets for worship. All of these will be aimed at encouraging students in their walk with Christ.
We believe our lineup for the 2007 convention is top-notch. Leading us in worship is Joel Engle, one of the premiere worship leaders in the nation, with his most recent album making the top 5 on the contemporary Christian charts. Matt Proctor, the president of Ozark Christian College, will be teaching us from God’s Word. In addition, we will be laughing hysterically at the antics of comedian John Branyan, and enjoying a worship concert with the Robbie Seay Band.
We hope that you will join us for this powerful weekend of worship and refreshing.
We do ask that you bring only Sr. High students, as this event is geared specifically for them. Other events like CIY Believe or Jr. High Journey would be perfect for younger students, and we highly recommend them. We look forward to seeing you this November for an amazing weekend!
IN CHRIST,
Keith Parker
